  • Armed Forces Emergency Services Provides emergency messaging to the military 24/7. 
  • Blood Services Conducts blood drives and distributes blood to area hospitals.  
  • Community Services Provides health and safety programs to the community.  
  • Disaster Services provides emergency services and shelter in the event of a disaster.

  • Crafty Campers Teaches children ages 2-7 about creativity, listening and teamwork and providesa  fun learning environment for military families. 
  • Kids Plus Children 6 months to 5 years of age attend a 10 week program with their parents for social, physical and emotional development.  
  • Little Caterpillars  Focuses on the skill and needs of children 2-3 years of age.  The children along with their parents participate in activities and interact socially.

  • After School Program Provides a safe place for children ages 6-18, regardless of income, to complete homework and enjoy playtime together.  
  • Summer School Program Provides summer activities for any child age 6-18 in a positive and fun place. Over 600 children every summer.

  • Vocational Rehabilitation Program for Developmentally Disabled Developmentally Disabled individuals from the community.  These individuals can participate in this job training program, learning valuable job skills at area businesses.

  • Boy Scouting is a year-round outdoor-centered program uniquely designed to meet the developmental needs of young men ages 11 to 17.  300+ youth participate annually.
  • Cub Scouts A family oriented program designed to meet the developmental needs of young boys and their families through activities that promote life skills, positive family relationships and character development.  1,200 youth participate every year.
  • Learning for Life This program offers a character education program for elementary, middle and high schools as well as a career development program. 
  • Venturing A program for young men and women ages 14-20 that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, develop leadership skills and become good citizens.

  • Hospice Assistance This program enhances a terminally ill person's quality of life by providing medicines, services and/or needed equipment that are not covered by insurance and are unaffordable. 
  • Community Education  The Foundation for Hospice conducts support groups and classes on coping with grief and end of life care.

  • Seniors Assistance distributing needed supplies not covered by medicare to elderly individuals who otherwise could not afford them.

  • Girl Scouting The mission of the Girl Scouts is to inspire girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism and service so that they may become happy and resourceful citizens.  Over 650 girls age 5-17 in scouting.

  • Legal Aid aggressively and consistently provides high quality legal services for low income and disadvantaged.  

Onslow Community Outreach 600 Court Street; Jacksonville, NC 28540; 910-455-5733

  • Benevolent Services provides up to $50 annually to eligible clients who have fallen behind on their rent or utility bills. 
  • Caring Community Clinic Provides free basic healthcare and medication for people ages 18-64 who are uninsured and within 175% of the federal poverty level.  
  • Homeless Shelter. The shelter provides counseling, referrals and short-term housing for the homeless.  
  • Soup Kitchen The Soup Kitchen targets the indigent and/or elderly who are in need of a nutritious meal.

  • Children's Program The Children's Haven for Intervention, Learning, and Development (CHILD) was established to interrupt and destroy the cycle of violence in the family unit. Assists a child of domestic violence with developing self esteem, coping skills and interaction with peers. 
  • Court Advocacy  Assists victims of domestic violence with the court process including protection orders and prosecutions. 
  • Domestic Violence Program Offers individual and group counseling and referrals for victims and family members of domestic violence.  
  • Hispanic Outreach / Volunteer Program This program educates the Hispanic community on issues and services related to domestic violence and recruits volunteers to assist with the Women's Center programs.
  • Legal  Representation  Offers legla representation to victims of domestic violence or sexual assualt free of charge.
  • Safe House In June of 2004, a newly constructed, state of the art - confidential, safe, healing environment for families of domestic violence opened.  
  • Sexual Assault/Rape Prevention Program Provides crisis intervention and support to victims of sexual assault and rape.  This program includes hospital advocacy, counseling and a Healthy Relationships curriculum for middle and high school students.

  • Free Drop-in Child Care is offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age.  This program provides support and relief to families who need a break, especially helpful for those whose spouse might be deployed.  
  • Parent Education PEERS receives referrals from DSS as a result of abuse and neglect reports.  Parents learn about effective parenting, nurturing, assertive discipline and parenting under stress.

  • SAT Scholarship Program is for any student that has a GPA of 3.0, at least 1100 on their SAT and completes 100 hours of community service.  This youth will receive a $1,000 scholarship to a university, college or academic institution of their choice.
